This blog post was written by former VP Finance Kateryn Kim.
Hi everyone,
This is my first blog post! So many things have happened since May 1st – the official start of my term. As your VP Finance of the Arts Undergraduate Society for the upcoming year, here is a little introduction about myself. My name is Kateryn and I am going into U2 this September majoring in Economics and Management.
My goal this year is to maintain the Golden Age that has been prevailing for the past couple years in terms of finance for AUS. Since the start of my term, the outgoing VP Finance, Sam Higgs, and I worked on the Audit. This has been one of the biggest challenges that I’ve faced so far since my term in the office. A lot of time and dedication was needed to prepare the documents and necessary information for the Audit. Fortunately enough, Sam and I finished on time for the Audit, and right now things are looking really well! Hopefully, before the school year starts, we will have the final draft of the financial statement! Audit is one of the biggest tasks/challenge that need to be faced during my term and I am happy to say that I feel a little accomplished.
I am going to be as transparent as possible with the work I do for AUS. I will keep all the records in order and clean. I am still learning a lot of things for AUS and I will definitely do my best!
Other than AUS, I am currently in Seoul doing an internship with Deloitte as a consulting intern. Work here have been really difficult and have been challenging but I definitely have met amazing people and mentors. I will cherish the time that I have spent with them for sure! I will be back in Montreal in August! Through this blog, I hope to share what I have and will be doing for AUS as there are numerous things that happen for AUS every day. Always email me at finance.aus@mail.mcgill.ca at any time with your questions and I will reply to you!
Hope you are all having an amazing summer!
