It’s time to power through until Reading Week! Whether you’re staying in Montreal, heading home, or taking a trip somewhere new, I hope you’re able to rest and recharge in between studying. Most of my portfolio projects are ongoing so there is not a lot of movement this week, but you can check out my February 18th Council Report for all of the details.

Arts Student Employment Fund

We received a record number of proposals for summer employment projects! While we are not able to fund all of them, I’m very excited about the diversity and quality of applications. The ASEF Committee will be meeting on February 23rd to make its allocation decisions, and I will be able to post the results after approval by AUS Council in early March. I also plan to recommend some additional tweaks to the fund process for next year.

Arts Valedictorians

Each year, two outstanding undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts are selected to represent their peers at the Spring Convocation Ceremonies. The Valedictorian Selection Committee is now accepting applications for the Graduating Class of 2015! Applicants will be chosen on the basis of their academic record, leadership, and dedication to the McGill community. They should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and take risks, and meet a minimum 3.3 GPA. More information can be found here.
